Is insurance optional?

Basic insurance is usually included automatically. But if you decline all extra insurance and don't have proof of alternative coverage, the rental supplier may refuse to release the car or block a much higher deposit.

If you're not sure, ask before your trip or check the insurance section of your booking confirmation.
